Question: My roof has a fairly large leak that directs rain down the side of one wall on the first story(two story house). fortunately this only occurs about 5% of the time it rains. is there any reason for the infrequency of the leak? what would make it not leak, other than completely redoing the roof?

Question: “When my home was re-roofed 6 years ago the roofer installed “ridge vents’ to help cool the attic.
The roof had never leaked before but now it leaks every couple of months when it rains really hard.
Other times we have monsoons and it doesn’t leak a drop. Is it possible the ‘ridge vents’ allow water in when the wind blows from a certain direction? The roofer who installed them doesn’t think so, but can’t offer any other explanation or find any reason for the leaks.”
