I finished another chimney leak repair today in Tinley Park. The flashing was in bad shape and I had to replace the flashing system. This was an old chimney with a new roof that was put on just three years ago. The roofing contractor used the old flashing rather than replacing the chimney flashing.
If you live in or around the Tinley Park area and you have a leak around your chimney, give me a call and we will fix the leak. Not all chimneys need an entire new flashing system. Some can be re-sealed. I do not use tar! I use high quality trypolymer sealants that last a long time.

Shingle roof repair, such as replacing flashing systems on a chimney, skylight, or along a wall, requires removing the existing shingles from the area. I have known people who attempt to reuse the old shingles, only to have a leak soon after the repair.

In most cases I can match your shingle color and brand. I carry shingle samples that cover six manufacturers, such as GAF, Owens Corning, CetrainTeed, and Tamko, as well as thirty styles and 297 colors. I say “in most cases” because fading and manufacturer color changes over the years sometimes prevent an “exact match.” 
These photos show the slight fading in the original roof, but it’s a minor difference. If I can’t get an exact match, I can come real close.
The replacement shingles I used on this skylight removal are the same brand and color as the original three year old roof.
