Chicago Roof Leak Repair!
Charlie Jines is a Certainteed certified Master Shingle Applicator with over 23 years in the construction and roofing industry. “When it comes to leak repair, I have you covered! All work guaranteed.”
I first started shingle roofing in the summer of 1987. Since that time, oh so long ago, I have worked with a large variety of roofing systems, as well as other fields of construction such as drywall, framing, masonry, and flooring.
Today I specialize in chimney repair, skylight repair and installation, flashing systems, and roof leak repair. With proper repair and maintenance in these problem areas, the life of your roof can be extended, saving you money.

I perform all my own work rather than sending out unsupervised employees, so that I know the job is done correctly. I’m not a large outfit, but I do know what I’m doing and take pride in my work. I also use quality materials. I could choose to save money by getting all my materials from any one of the many cheaper home centers, but then I’d be returning to fix leaks that I already fixed. Top quality materials ensure quality results. Furthermore, all of my chimney, skylight, and wall flashing systems are top notch, and custom made on site. I follow the standards set by GAF, CertainTeed, and the NRCA Repair Manuals.

South Chicago Flat Roof Repair and Coating
Posted by: | CommentsChicago Flat Roof Repair
This is a flat roof on the south side of Chicago that had a bad leak on the back end right in the middle of the roof. The first thing that I did was install rubber patches where the leak was coming in. I then applied ponding water grade to the low spot before applying the finish grade. Next, all the seams received a coat prior to the finish grade. Then two coats of finish grade elastomeric coating were applied.
You can notice that this roof had a coat of silver seal the last time it was coated. The problem with this is that silver seal cracks within a few seasons. Elastomeric coating is much more elastic, thus allowing it to expand and contract with the roof during our extreme temperature shifts.
Another benefit with using this product is the cooling bill saving you will get. It’s a good idea to coat your Chicago flat roof in order to extend its life to its full potential. I can do most Chicago flat roofs for under $1,800.00 with a three year guarantee against leaks.

Member Comments:
Chuck Jines went above and beyond on this one. The leak proved to be extremely difficult to find. First he repaired two small leaks near the skylight and rebuilt the flashing. (I confirmed these leaks by observing water marks on the boards under the shingles — they were real.) Unfortunately, this didn’t stop our problem. He then came back out, immediately tarped the roof and kept searching. In the meantime, he improved the flashing even further and eventually tracked the main leak to the skylight itself, which he fixed. This was a hard job, and even though it wasn’t completed perfectly the first time, he did a fabulous job fixing the most likely culprit each time and we eventually got it. Everything has been perfect for a year at this point. Chuck’s communication was clear and accurate. He was very honest with us and did all the work quickly and professionally. I would highly recommend him for difficult roofing issues.
